Meet Gail Niksic
My Story
For over a decade, I loved and cared for my mother, who in her early sixties, began suffering from dementia.
In the beginning, my sisters and I quickly learned that this was something we could not manage on our own.
We turned to the professionals at Rush University and Northwestern University for help. There we were given the tools needed to prepare us for this journey. It truly does take a village.
In 2000 I was inspired to change my career and enter the field of aging. My goal is to use my experience to help others find the resources they need while facing the many challenges associated with aging.
Today, there are many more cognitive therapies and interdisciplinary teams available to help navigate the course for your loved one. Let me be your guide.
